The return of the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine

The news so many Ram enthusiasts have been waiting for is official: the 5.7-litre HEMI V8 has returned to the Ram 1500 line-up for the 2026 model year.
For those of us who live and breathe American trucks, this is more than an engine announcement. It is the return of a sound, a feel and a character that has helped define the Ram 1500 for years. Ram customers made their voices heard, clearly and passionately, and the HEMI V8 is back in response to that demand.
As the official UK importer and converter for Ram trucks, backed by KW Automotive as the official European importer, we are delighted to see the V8 return to the range. For UK customers, we are positioning the 2026 HEMI V8 on three of the most desirable Ram 1500 trims: the Limited, Rebel and Laramie.

Why the HEMI V8 matters

There are powerful engines, and then there are engines with genuine presence. The HEMI has always sat firmly in the second camp. Its appeal is not just about figures on a specification sheet, although it certainly delivers there too. It is about the deep V8 soundtrack, the immediate response and the relaxed confidence that suits a full-size American pickup so naturally.
In 2026 Ram 1500 form, the 5.7-litre HEMI V8 is rated at around 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque in its source market specification. It also features eTorque mild-hybrid assistance, which helps add useful extra torque under acceleration. The result is an engine that feels strong, smooth and ready, whether you are cruising, overtaking or putting the truck to proper work.
For many owners, that character is exactly what makes a Ram feel like a Ram. The HEMI gives the truck a sense of occasion every time you start it, but it also has the easy-going strength that makes long journeys and heavy-duty use feel calm and controlled.

Built for customers who asked for it

One of the most pleasing parts of this story is how directly customer enthusiasm has shaped the line-up. Ram leadership has been open about the fact that customers wanted the V8 back, and the 2026 Ram 1500 answers that call.
That matters because the Ram 1500 has always been about more than transport. It is chosen by people who appreciate capability, design, comfort and individuality. The HEMI V8 sits perfectly within that mindset. It is for drivers who want a truck that feels special, sounds authentic and carries itself with unmistakable American confidence.
The returning HEMI models also gain extra standard touches compared with earlier versions, including a factory cat-back exhaust and a larger fuel tank. Those details underline the enthusiast focus of the 2026 V8 line-up. This is not just a familiar badge returning, it is a considered package aimed at people who genuinely value the V8 experience.

Limited, Rebel and Laramie: three ways to enjoy the V8

For our UK customers, the 5.7-litre HEMI V8 is available on three standout Ram 1500 trims, each with its own personality.
The Ram 1500 Limited brings the HEMI together with the most luxurious side of the range. It is the truck for drivers who want American V8 strength with a premium cabin, a commanding road presence and a high level of refinement.
The Ram 1500 Rebel gives the V8 a more rugged edge. With its bolder stance and adventure-ready attitude, the Rebel is ideal for those who want their truck to look and feel tougher, without losing everyday usability.
The Ram 1500 Laramie sits in that sweet spot between comfort, capability and classic truck appeal. It is a highly versatile choice for customers who want the HEMI character in a well-equipped, confident and practical package.

Real capability, real presence

A full-size Ram pickup needs to do more than look good, and the HEMI V8 brings the kind of strength owners expect. In its source market, HEMI-equipped Ram 1500 models offer serious towing capability, with figures comfortably into heavy-duty territory. For UK customers, exact vehicle specifications will depend on the individual truck and conversion, so we will always talk through the details clearly with you.
What matters most is the feel. The HEMI has the torque and composure to make demanding tasks feel natural. Whether the truck is used for work, towing, rural life, business presence or weekend adventures, the V8 adds a layer of confidence that is immediately noticeable.
From our base in Kidwelly, Carmarthenshire, we officially import and convert left-hand drive US-market vehicles for UK roads, supported by our UK-wide dealership network with viewing by appointment. That means customers can enjoy the unmistakable appeal of an American Ram with the reassurance of dealing directly with the official UK route.

Choosing the right service centre for your American performance vehicle

Choosing the right service centre for your American performance vehicle is not just about routine maintenance. It is about protecting the character, capability and engineering of a vehicle built for a different market, then officially prepared for UK roads. For RAM and Dodge owners, that means working with a team that understands American platforms, UK compliance, genuine parts and the expectations that come with owning something rare.

Why American vehicles need dedicated expertise

A RAM 1500, RAM 2500 or Dodge performance model is not the same as a typical UK-market vehicle. The scale, powertrains, driveline systems, electronics and specification can all differ from what many general workshops see every day. Even the simplest service item benefits from a technician who understands the vehicle’s original US-market design and its UK conversion.

Ram Trucks UK exists for this exact reason. As the official UK distributor and importer, backed by KW Automotive as the official European importer, Ram Trucks UK brings together import knowledge, conversion standards, servicing support and parts supply under one specialist structure.

That matters because ownership does not end when the vehicle arrives in the UK. It continues through servicing, diagnostics, warranty support, software updates where applicable, accessories, parts and technical advice specific to the model.

Official import and conversion knowledge matters

American trucks and muscle cars imported for UK roads need more than basic preparation. The team maintaining the vehicle should understand how it was brought into the country, how it was converted and what has been fitted to meet UK requirements.

With Ram Trucks UK, that knowledge sits within the same official network that imports and prepares these vehicles. The Kidwelly head office and distribution and servicing centre in Carmarthenshire supports a UK-wide network of five dealership partners for sales and servicing, with viewings by appointment only, giving owners official importer support rather than a disconnected servicing experience.

Model-specific understanding

The Ram Trucks UK network works with a focused portfolio of American vehicles, from everyday-capable pickups to high-output performance models. That includes the RAM 1500, 1500 RHO, 1500 REV, RAMCHARGER and RAM 2500, as well as Dodge Charger, Challenger, Durango and E-Muscle electric models.

Each has its own engineering personality. A RAM 1500 may need attention to towing equipment, suspension set-up, transmission behaviour and infotainment systems. A RAM 2500 brings heavy-duty capability and components that require the right inspection approach. Dodge performance models demand an understanding of power delivery, braking, cooling, tyres and drivetrain condition.

Owners exploring the current range of vehicles or comparing RAM truck models can see how broad the official line-up is. Servicing support has to match that breadth.

What the right support looks like

For this type of vehicle, the right service experience should feel informed from the start. Technicians should know the model, the market it came from and the conversion work that makes it suitable for UK use.

Within the Ram Trucks UK network, the essentials are built around:

Technicians familiar with American RAM and Dodge platforms

Access to genuine parts, accessories and technical knowledge

Support from an official UK importer with a dedicated Welsh base

This is not general servicing applied to an unusual vehicle. It is specialist care for American performance vehicles delivered through the official route.

Genuine parts and correct accessories

Parts quality has a direct effect on how these vehicles drive, tow, brake, handle and feel, especially with components designed for US-market platforms. Ram Trucks UK supplies genuine parts and accessories for the vehicles it imports and supports, giving owners a clear source for items that suit the model rather than relying on guesswork, whether that’s a towing accessory, a trim upgrade or advice grounded in the vehicle’s original design and UK preparation.

Compliance, MOT and road readiness

Roadworthiness is a core part of responsible ownership. American vehicles used in the UK still need to meet UK requirements, and owners can refer to the official guidance on MOT and roadworthiness requirements for the legal basics.

For RAM and Dodge models, the practical side goes further. Lighting, tyres, braking performance, suspension condition and safety systems all need the right attention, and a service centre with direct experience of these vehicles can identify issues in context rather than treating the vehicle as an unfamiliar exception. This is where Ram Trucks UK’s official position matters: the same network that understands import and conversion also understands how the vehicle should be maintained on UK roads.

Protecting performance and ownership confidence

American performance vehicles are bought with intent. Owners choose them for presence, sound, strength, pace, comfort and individuality. Servicing should protect those qualities, not dilute them through unsuitable parts or uncertain diagnosis.

A well-maintained RAM or Dodge should feel confident, composed and true to its character, backed by the right inspections, correct fluids and technicians who know what normal looks and feels like for the vehicle.

Ram Trucks UK provides specialist servicing backed by official importer knowledge, from the Kidwelly base in Wales through its dealership partner network across the UK. For owners of officially imported American trucks and performance cars, that creates a clear, credible servicing path and a solid foundation for long-term confidence in a rare and capable machine.

The post How to avoid costly mistakes with unofficial RAM truck sellers appeared first on RAM Trucks UK.

Buying from unofficial RAM truck sellers can create risk and hassle long after the handover. The truck may look right, sound right and feel like the real thing, but if its paperwork, approval, warranty and support route are unclear, ownership can quickly become more complicated than it needs to be. The safer approach is to buy through the official UK route, where provenance, compliance and after-sales care are built into the process from the start.

Ram Trucks UK is the official UK distributor for RAM Trucks, backed by KW Automotive as the official European importer. That matters because a RAM is not an ordinary purchase. It is a specialist American vehicle that needs the right approval, preparation, parts support and technical knowledge for UK roads.

Why unofficial sellers can create problems

Grey-market sellers often operate outside the official manufacturer-backed structure. Some import vehicles independently, convert them through third parties, then sell them on with limited long-term support. Others have no clear route for warranty handling, parts sourcing or technical updates.

The issue is rarely obvious at first glance. A RAM 1500, RAM 2500 or high-performance variant can look exceptional on the forecourt. The real risk sits behind the scenes, in details that affect legal use, servicing, diagnostics and future support.

With an official route, those details are not left to chance. Correct provenance, compliant preparation and after-sales infrastructure are central to the vehicle’s journey into the UK.

Check the approval route, not just the badge

Any vehicle imported for UK road use must meet the right approval standards. For specialist imports, that often involves Individual Vehicle Approval, and GOV.UK explains the process for Individual Vehicle Approval in detail.

Unofficial sellers may present a truck as “UK ready”, but that phrase can mean different things depending on who prepared it. The key question is not whether it has a number plate, but whether the approval, conversion and documentation have been handled properly and can be clearly evidenced: the vehicle’s import route, its IVA and registration history, lighting and speedometer compliance, and the identity of the business that carried out the preparation.

If answers are vague, rushed or inconsistent, treat that as a warning sign. A premium truck deserves a transparent paper trail.

Warranty gaps can be hard to resolve later

Warranty support is one of the biggest differences between the official route and an unofficial seller. With grey-market vehicles, the warranty position can be unclear, restricted or dependent on a seller who has no manufacturer-level backing.

That can mean frustrating delays if a technical issue appears, with responsibility passed between the seller, a third-party workshop and an overseas contact.

Through Ram Trucks UK, the ownership journey is built around official importer credibility and structured after-sales support, as part of a recognised UK network rather than an isolated import with an uncertain support chain.

Parts, servicing and provenance all matter from day one

A RAM truck is engineered to work hard, but it still needs proper maintenance from technicians who understand the vehicle, along with access to the right parts and diagnostic tools. Unofficial sellers may offer basic servicing, but that is not the same as being part of an official RAM structure, particularly as newer models such as the 1500 REV, RAMCHARGER and Dodge’s E-Muscle range bring more advanced electronics into the mix.

Provenance matters just as much. A RAM’s history, where it came from, who prepared it and what approval it received, should all be clear and well documented. Unofficial sellers can sometimes provide only partial paperwork, and that shortfall tends to surface later, whether at service, insurance renewal or resale.

With Ram Trucks UK, provenance sits at the heart of the process. The business is headquartered in Kidwelly, Carmarthenshire, and works through a five-dealer UK network, with viewings by appointment only, reflecting a specialist, enthusiast-led approach rather than a volume-led sales model.

Why the official route suits RAM ownership

RAM trucks appeal to people who know what they want: capability, presence and engineering that feels different from the mainstream. That is exactly why the buying route matters. The RAM 1500 is a strong example, blending American full-size truck character with everyday refinement, but it still needs the correct UK preparation and support behind it. The same applies across the wider range, from the 1500 RHO to the 2500.

Choosing the official route brings clearer warranty handling, proper compliance documentation, specialist servicing knowledge and genuine confidence in a vehicle’s provenance. These are practical advantages that affect how smoothly the truck fits into daily life and how quickly any issue gets resolved.

Owning a RAM in the UK should feel distinctive and assured, not dominated by uncertainty over paperwork, warranty cover or whether the seller will still be around when support is needed. Unofficial sellers can make the buying process look simple at first, but the real test comes after delivery, when official backing and clear provenance become essential. Ram Trucks UK provides that official UK route, supported by KW Automotive as the official European importer, so drivers get the full RAM experience without avoidable risk.

Discover why official RAM parts give UK RAM owners the right fit, dependable quality and lasting reassurance, backed by RAM Trucks UK, the official importer.

The post What makes official RAM parts better than aftermarket alternatives available appeared first on RAM Trucks UK.

What makes official RAM parts better than aftermarket alternatives available

Official RAM parts are better than aftermarket alternatives because they are engineered, tested and supplied to match the exact requirements of RAM vehicles. That means the right fit, the right performance characteristics and the reassurance that your truck is being maintained with components designed for it from the outset. For UK owners, genuine RAM parts from RAM Trucks UK also bring something important: direct access to the official importer, not guesswork from a generic catalogue.

RAM trucks are built with a particular standard in mind. Their strength, comfort, towing ability and road presence all depend on parts working together as a complete system, so choosing official parts is about protecting the way the vehicle drives, performs and lasts, not just brand preference.

Engineered for the vehicle, not just the category

Aftermarket parts are often designed to fit a broad range of vehicles. On paper, that can sound convenient, but broad compatibility is not the same as precise compatibility.

Official RAM parts are made to match the vehicle’s original specifications, including dimensions, materials, tolerances, finish and performance requirements. Whether it is a service item, body component, suspension part, electrical item or accessory, the part is intended to work with the systems already built into your RAM. That matters on a truck with real capability, where towing, payload, braking, cooling and drivetrain performance all depend on components doing their job under pressure.

With RAM Trucks UK, owners can access the official parts and accessories range with the confidence that comes from dealing with the official UK distributor and importer for RAM pickup trucks and Dodge performance cars.

Fit and compatibility make a real difference

A poor-fitting part is rarely just an inconvenience. It can lead to vibration, noise, uneven wear, warning lights, leaks or premature failure elsewhere, and it can take longer to diagnose when something does not behave as expected.

Genuine parts are designed around the vehicle’s original build. That helps protect:

Correct fitment, reducing the need for adjustment or compromise

System compatibility, particularly with electronic, drivetrain and safety-related components

Factory appearance, keeping the truck looking and feeling as intended

Consistent performance, especially under load, distance or demanding conditions

This is especially important for imported American vehicles in the UK. RAM trucks have a character and specification that set them apart from conventional pickups. Using parts that are chosen specifically for those vehicles helps maintain that distinction.

Quality control you can trust

The appeal of some aftermarket parts is usually availability, but availability alone does not prove quality. Different manufacturers work to different standards, and not every part is tested with your specific vehicle in mind.

Official RAM components are produced and checked against the standards required for the vehicle, covering how they fit, how they perform and how they hold up in use over time. It is not simply about whether a part can be installed, but whether it continues to perform properly once fitted.

For enthusiast owners, that detail matters. A RAM is often chosen because it offers a blend of power, presence, utility and refinement that few vehicles can match, and maintaining it with genuine parts helps preserve that original experience.

Warranty protection and peace of mind

Warranty cover is another area where genuine parts carry clear advantages. Using non-genuine or unsuitable parts can create problems if a related fault appears later, and the principle is simple: if a non-OEM part contributes to a fault, cover may be affected.

The RAC explains how warranty conditions can depend on maintenance, repairs and approved components in its guide to warranty terms and non-OEM parts voiding warranty cover. Choosing genuine RAM parts through RAM Trucks UK helps keep the maintenance history clean and credible, supporting clearer conversations if warranty or service records are ever reviewed.

Long-term value, durability and resale appeal

The lowest-effort fix is rarely the best long-term decision. A part that wears faster, fits poorly or causes additional strain can affect the vehicle beyond the initial repair.

Official parts support long-term value because they help keep the truck closer to its intended standard, which matters both for owners planning to keep their RAM for years and for anyone considering a future sale or part exchange. A vehicle maintained with genuine parts tells a stronger story, showing care and respect for the manufacturer’s specification, and that kind of history carries real weight with buyers looking at a premium American pickup in the UK.

Why RAM Trucks UK is the right route

RAM Trucks UK is not a general parts seller. Based in Kidwelly, Carmarthenshire, and supported by a UK-wide network of five dealership partners, the business is the official UK distributor and importer for RAM trucks and Dodge performance vehicles.

That position gives UK owners a direct and dependable route to the correct parts and accessories, with advice from people who understand these vehicles properly rather than a database matching a registration to a generic part number. Through RAM Trucks UK and its official service centre network, owners can keep their vehicles maintained with the right components and the right level of care.

Meet the Ram 1500 Rumble Bee, a limited muscle truck with HEMI V8 and Hellcat-derived power, available through official UK importer Ram Trucks UK in Britain.

The All-New Ram 1500 Rumble Bee

The Ram 1500 Rumble Bee is Ram’s new dedicated muscle truck, created for buyers who want road-focused performance, serious V8 character and rare factory identity in a full-size pickup. It revives a name with real enthusiast weight, but this is not an off-road TRX or RHO replacement. It is a street truck first, built around stance, acceleration, grip and theatre.

A famous Ram name returns

Ram last used the Rumble Bee name roughly two decades ago on the Ram 1500 SRT10, the 8.3-litre V10 truck widely known as the Viper truck, with 500 hp and a reputation that still matters today. The new model brings that spirit forward with a far more focused line-up.

As detailed by Motor1, the Rumble Bee is being positioned as its own muscle and street truck subsegment. Cars.com also reports a four-variant range, with HEMI V8 and Hellcat-derived performance at the top.

Shorter, wider and built for the road

The new Rumble Bee is offered only as a Quad Cab with a 5.5-foot short bed, a first for Ram in this configuration. The frame is shortened by 13 inches between the axles compared with a standard Ram 1500, giving it a tighter, more purposeful footprint.

Overall length is approximately 219.5 inches, with width at 88 inches. That width comes from TRX-sourced flared fenders, with track width up to 7 inches wider than standard. It gives the truck a broad, planted look without turning it into an off-road model.

Four Rumble Bee variants

Ram is planning four versions, each with a different level of power and hardware:

Rumble Bee, with a 5.7-litre HEMI V8 producing 395 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 410 lb-ft at 3,950 rpm, reaching 0-60 mph in 6.1 seconds and the quarter mile in 14.6 seconds at 93 mph.

Rumble Bee 392, with a 6.4-litre HEMI V8 producing 470 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 455 lb-ft at 4,200 rpm, the first use of this engine in a light-duty 1500. It reaches 0-60 mph in 5.2 seconds.

Rumble Bee 392 Track Pack, using the same 6.4-litre engine, with four-corner air suspension and more focused track hardware.

Rumble Bee SRT, with a supercharged 6.2-litre HEMI, Hellcat-derived, producing 777 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 680 lb-ft at 4,800 rpm. Ram targets 0-60 mph in 3.4 seconds, an 11.6-second quarter mile at 116 mph and a top speed of 170 mph.

Performance hardware with everyday control

Every Rumble Bee uses an eight-speed TorqueFlite automatic gearbox, full-time all-wheel drive, paddle shifters, launch control and a rear-wheel-drive disconnect button. That means the truck is not simply about straight-line output. It is designed to give the driver control over how that power reaches the road.

Base and 392 models use steel coil-spring suspension with Bilstein monotube shocks. Track Pack and SRT models step up to four-corner air suspension, set 1.5 inches lower, with Bilstein Damptronic Sky adaptive dampers, an electronic locking or spool differential, and dedicated Track and Valet drive modes.

Brakes, wheels and road grip

The braking package also moves up with each level. Rumble Bee and 392 models get 14.9-inch vented front discs with two-piston calipers. Track Pack and SRT versions receive 16.1-inch front rotors, six-piston Brembo calipers and brake-cooling ducts.

Track Pack and SRT models also add a front splitter, brake ducts and rear spoiler. The SRT’s lateral grip is quoted at 0.89G, more than 20 percent better than the base model. Wheels are 22×10 inches on the Rumble Bee and 392, rising to 22×12 inches on Track Pack and SRT, the widest wheel and tyre combination Ram has offered on a production truck.

Colours, cabin and technology

Exterior colours include Detonator Yellow, Molten Red and Ceramic Gray, with Diamond Black Crystal Pearl-Coat available on the SRT Blacktop package. Matte-black bonnet graphics and angry bee bed graphics are available, with bee badging varying by trim.

Inside, the Rumble Bee gains a flat-bottom performance steering wheel with paddle shifters, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and Uconnect touchscreen technology. Screen size starts at 8.4 inches, rises to 12 inches on the 392, and reaches 14.5 inches on the SRT.

The 392 adds 10-way power cloth seats with Prowler Yellow stitching. Track Pack models receive 12-way power leather and suede seats. The SRT brings Natura Plus leather and suede, Desert Orange stitching, a suede headliner, carbon fibre deco trim, Harman Kardon audio, plus optional head-up display and 360-degree camera.

Availability for UK buyers

The 5.7-litre Rumble Bee is due to arrive in late 2026, with 392 and SRT variants following in the first half of 2027. Rumble Bee and 392 models also retain useful truck capability, with towing up to approximately 8,890 lb and payload up to approximately 1,160 lb.

For buyers already considering the current Ram 1500 range, the Rumble Bee adds a more specialised direction. It is for those who want a rare, road-biased Ram with factory performance credibility and a clear link to American muscle culture.

Ram Trucks UK is the official UK distributor and importer for RAM pickup trucks and Dodge performance cars, based in Kidwelly, Carmarthenshire, and backed by KW Automotive as official European importer. We import and prepare US-market left-hand-drive vehicles for UK roads, giving buyers a direct, trusted route into exclusive American models like the all-new Ram 1500 Rumble Bee.

The Ram 1500 truck is an all-American juggernaut with an epic scale. It has more than half a metre longer than an Isuzu D-Max, 200mm wider and 400kg heavier. This bulk is the primary reason why vehicles of this size have rarely been offered in the UK, with its narrow roads and on-street parking.

However, European importer KW Automotive has made possible to acquire a left-hand-drive Ram pick-up truck through an approved dealer, complete with a full warranty. The mid-spec RAM 1500 Laramie is one of the best sellers of its kind in the UK, and it is available with Autogas option.

Considering the Ram’s huge proportions and engine, running costs are hard to stomach for UK buyers, so many trucks are specced with a Prins LPG conversion, complete with 100-, 200- or 320-litre tank bolted under the pickup bed.

The petrol version deliver 24mpg on a motorway cruise and about 18mpg with mixed driving. At current prices, KW Automotive says this makes running costs for the LPG-powered Ram comparable to a vehicle that does 40mpg on petrol alone.

The KW Technology Centre installs the latest Prins LPG system, which has proven itself over the last 15 years. The key components of the system are OEM quality and specifically designed for Autogas, complying with the strictest European regulations and certifications. The kit is available for both the RAM 1500 and the Dodge Durango.

Just like its landscapes, fast food and waistlines, the USA’s pickup trucks are of an epic scale. To us Brits, with our narrow ribbons of hedge-lined tarmac and quaint on-street parking, a Ford Ranger or VW Amarok might seem a lump of a vehicle. But these are mere toys compared with what’s tearing around on the other side of the pond.

Take the 1500 from Ram – this all-American juggernaut is more than half a metre longer than an Isuzu D-Max, 200mm wider and 400kg heavier. And it’s one of the small ones.

This bulk is the primary reason why trucks of this size have rarely been proffered in the UK, save for a handful of grey imports that have bypassed official channels. European importer KW Automotive has bucked that trend though, making it possible to buy a left-hand-drive Ram through an approved dealer, complete with a full warranty.

To find out if that’s a sensible proposition, we got behind the wheel of a mid-spec 1500 Laramie; one of the best sellers in the UK.

V8 power

Like all regular 1500s, the Laramie is hauled along by a 5.7-litre naturally aspirated Hemi V8 that’s good for 395hp. This sort of firepower is unheard of in regular European diesel pickups, where the gutsiest models top out at less than 250hp. Consequently, it can propel its 2.4t bulk from 0-60mph in a sprightly 6sec and keep on hustling until it hits a limited top speed of just over 107mph.

Tempting as it is to gun it off the mark and let the engine sing, the modest exhaust and healthy dose of sound-deadening means the V8 roar comes through more like a pleasing burble. This is fine, because the V8 in the 1500 exists for effortless cruising and towing ability, rather than lairy noise making – there’s a 702hp supercharged TRX version if that’s more your bag.

Considering the Ram’s mammoth proportions and huge engine, its thirst for petrol isn’t as voracious as one might expect, returning up to 24mpg on a motorway cruise and about 18mpg with mixed driving. This is thanks to its multi-displacement system (MDS) that shuts the engine down to four cylinders when full V8 power isn’t required.

These running costs are still hard to stomach for UK buyers, so many trucks are specced with a Prins LPG conversion, complete with 100-, 200- or 320-litre tank bolted under the pickup bed. At current prices, KW Automotive says this makes running costs for the Ram comparable to a vehicle that does 40mpg on petrol alone.
